Classic Korean Potato Side Dish Recipe (Gamja Salad) – A Refreshing and Easy Recipe

Korean cuisine is often known for its complex and flavourful dishes, but this classic side dish with potatoes can be easily prepared with just a few ingredients. Gamja salad is a delicious, light, and refreshing side dish enjoyed by many Koreans all year round.

Ingredients

  • 2 potatoes, cut into small cubes
  • 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons of onion, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Cook the potatoes in boiling water until they are tender.

2. Once cooked, drain and rinse them under cold water to stop the cooking.

3. In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, mustard, sugar, vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, onion, salt and pepper.

4. Add the cooled potatoes to the mixture and stir until they are all evenly coated.

5. Refrigerate the salad for at least 10 minutes.

6. Enjoy!
