Making the Pan-Fried Tofu

Before you start cooking, lightly score the tofu with a knife using a crisscross pattern. This will make the tofu crispier in the pan-frying process.

Next, heat the oil in a pan and add the chopped regular onion and garlic. Fry until fragrant. If you need help at this step, or any others, you can follow this recipe guide.

Then add the sugar and soy sauce and mix for about a minute until the sugar is dissolved. Add in the diced carrot and fry for a few minutes until the carrot starts to soften.

Finally add the soft tofu, green onions and coriander. Fry for a few minutes on medium heat until the tofu is lightly golden, and the flavors have blended. Once it’s finished, you can enjoy your delicious pan-fried tofu!

Serving Suggestions

Korean pan-fried tofu can be enjoyed on its own or served alongside other dishes. For example, serve it with a flavorful bowl of bibimbap, a favorite Korean dish. It can also be served as a side dish alongside kimchi bokkeumbap, one of the most popular dishes of the Korean cuisine. Enjoy your meal!
